Hi, I’m Karin.
Why do I do what I do? Life moves quickly, and photos help us pause. They tell our stories and preserve precious memories forever. I grew up loving art and photography, and I knew I wanted to help others tell their stories and proudly display their own art and memories after two life-changing events: when I lost my Mom, and after the birth of my children.
My documentary style of photography captures your true-life story through timeless images you will be proud to share. I love (and have an eye for finding) the candid, unscripted moments that may have otherwise gone unnoticed or perhaps be too quickly forgotten. To me, these are the images that make the investment worthwhile.
People sometimes ask why I don’t specialize in one field of photography. The truth is, I’m proud of the balance I’ve achieved shooting weddings, commercial work, and portraits. I accept a limited number of weddings per year to ensure every client receives the personalized attention and time I am known for. At the end of the day, when clients tell me they consider me a part of their family because I’ve photographed so many aspects of their lives – from their engagement to their wedding to their first born and their new family, and even the start of their new business – the efforts in managing a diverse business become worthwhile.
So, what else do you want to know about me? I crave good coffee, crusty bread with real butter, and fresh air. My love for my kids is primal. I am a long-time “horse person”, and my husband is an Equine Veterinarian – so I know better than most the incredible bond between horses and their people (and how to capture it). We used to have five dogs and now we have one. I think it’s time for a new addition…
I am a huge champion of supporting local and small businesses, and much of my commercial work is with local businesses. I love being able to help them grow through a great web and print presence in a creative way.
So, what’s with the logo? A very good friend who is familiar with my Mother’s incredible artwork and legacy of creating beautiful paintings, meals, music (and so much more) once said: “Clearly the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” It was the nicest compliment anyone could ever pay me, and served as my inspiration.
I take my business very seriously. I have ample insurance and backup equipment to give both of us peace of mind. I have over a decade of experience in the Animal Health Pharmaceutical industry, and I carry with me the high-level professional skills I learned there into my (now full-time) photography business. I am honored to have been selected as a member of both the prestigious Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) - an organization comprised of some of the most talented photojournalists and wedding photographers in the world, dedicated to excellence in wedding photojournalism and Fearless Photographers. I also firmly believe in continuing education – I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), and the Equine Photographers Network (EPN).
Oh, and I laugh a lot (often at myself). Don’t be surprised if your belly hurts after your session.
Shoot me an email (email@example.com) or give me a call (609.955.0439) any time. Let’s make a date for a cup of coffee – I’m eager to learn all about you, and how we can work together!
All my best,
